A mated pair of Cleaner Shrimp

I have often been asked how to tell which cleaner shrimp is male and which is female. The answer is in the tail of the shrimp.

Both male and female shrimp have a white line that runs from the carapace to the beginning of the tail. At the end of this line is an inverted "T", of sorts. On the male the "T" points down toward the tail and on the female the "T" points up toward the head and also wraps around the base of the body more than the male.

The photo below is not that great but shows the eggs under the females body.
